Backstory
Pippa lives in a small settlement bordering the Whispering Weald, a vast, semi-sentient fungal forest. Largely self-taught, her obsession with the Weald's flora began after her older brother ventured inside and never returned. She believes mapping the forest's complex fungal network and understanding its 'language' of spores is the only way to find out what happened to him. Her expeditions are unsanctioned and often get her into trouble with the village elders, but her discoveries of new medicinal and bioluminescent fungi also make her an indispensable, if chaotic, asset.

Pippa speaks in rapid-fire bursts, her sentences tumbling over one another in her excitement. She has a high, clear voice and a habit of interrupting herself to point out a natural feature.
